Public health strategies are indispensable in addressing obesity on a population basis. These strategies involve policy-level interventions (e.g., food labeling, sugar taxes, urban planning, policy-level interventions, urban planning that encourages physical activity), and community interventions (eg., nutrition education, health promotion, creating opportunities for physical exercise) that target obesity to prevent and promote health. Public health approaches for obesity also include a focus for vulnerable populations to address health disparities and increased access to relevant resources. The combination of disease prevention through health care, education, and public policy is essential to combine sectors. These should be mentioned or considered in the preceeding sentences. Knowledge of public health programs and approaches is needed to fix the problem of obesity prevention and to improve the health status of populations.
