Obesity Conference-NFOD 2026

The Obesity and Pulmonary Health session will provide a practical understanding of how excess body weight can impact lung function. Attendees will learn how obesity contributes to sleep apnea, asthma, and decreased lung function, along with mechanisms linking systemic metabolic health to pulmonary health. There will be strategies for prevention, early recognition, and management of respiratory complications in relation to obesity that are based on research studies and best practices. Case studies and research will provide practical information to inform clinicians, respiratory therapists, and health professionals who work with individuals in this population.
